The use of pillars and beams in architecture was the inspiration for the stool, Minka. The name, Minka, is taken from the traditional Japanese houses where the construction consisting of crossbeams and vertical posts is exposed. These characteristics are incorporated into the design with simple lines, slim dimensions and by using solid oak.
